Originally from Arizona, Kate was a young actress in NYC, when she met Carlos Lyra, the famous Brazilian bossa nova singer and composer who brought her to Rio. Kate continued her acting and singing career here in Brazil, becoming a well-known star of film and television. She is also a composer and researcher of various types of Brazilian music. One of her most recognizable lines was: "Brasileiro é tão bonzinho"!
