Exchange Policy

Thank you for becoming a member of the American Society of Rio de Janeiro. We’re delighted to welcome you!

Please note that by purchasing an annual membership, you are subscribing to a continuous service that renews automatically each year. For this reason, exchanges for other services or membership types are not possible. However, we understand that circumstances may change, and we outline our cancellation and refund policy below:

If you wish to cancel your membership, you may do so at any time, at no additional cost. However, it is not possible to transfer or exchange the membership for another product or service offered by the Society.

If you cancel before using any membership benefits, you are entitled to exercise your right of withdrawal, as provided by Decree 7962 of March 15, 2013. This right allows for a full refund within 7 (seven) calendar days from the date of the initial purchase.

In the case of force majeure—such as serious illness or relocation—that prevents you from using the membership during the contracted year, you may request a partial refund of the unused period. Valid documentation (e.g., a medical certificate or proof of change of address) will be required to process such requests.
